Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 27, 2026

The short version: AdvisorCore does not collect, store, or transmit your personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising. Data you input stays on your iPhone.

Who publishes AdvisorCore

AdvisorCore is published by Tamar Shapiro, based in New York State, United States. You can get in touch at advisorcoresupport@gmail.com.

Information we collect

AdvisorCore does not maintain user accounts and does not require any sign-up or registration. There is no login, no password, and no profile held anywhere outside your own device.

AdvisorCore does not collect your name, email address, phone number, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, location, contacts, photos, or usage analytics. AdvisorCore operates no servers and has no technical ability to access, view, or retrieve data you input.

Information stored on your device

Data you input is saved locally on your iPhone and nowhere else. That includes your profile, courses and grades, test scores, extracurricular activities, college list, tasks, events, deadlines, notes, and any conversations with the in-app advisor.

Data you input is protected by iOS Data Protection, which encrypts app data at rest whenever your device has a passcode set. You can also enable App Lock in the app to require Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode before the app opens.

What leaves your device

Only two things, and only when you take an action that requires them:

  • College searches. When you search for a school or refresh a school's statistics, the app sends that search text or the school's public ID to the U.S. Department of Education's College Scorecard API and the Urban Institute's Education Data API. No information about you is included in these requests.
  • Briefings you choose to export. The app can copy a summary of your profile to your clipboard so you can paste it into an AI assistant such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini. Nothing is sent automatically. You review the exact text first, your name and home state are excluded by default, and you decide whether and where to paste it. Once pasted, that service's own privacy policy governs what happens to it.

On-device AI

On supported iPhones, the in-app advisor uses Apple's on-device language model. It runs entirely on your device's hardware and works without an internet connection. Your questions and data you input are not sent to Apple, to AdvisorCore, or to any other company.

Face ID and Touch ID

If you enable App Lock, authentication is handled entirely by iOS. The app receives only a yes-or-no result and never has access to your biometric data.

Backups you create

You can export a backup file containing data you input. That file is saved wherever you choose to put it, and from that point it is under your control. It is not encrypted, so store it somewhere you trust.

Third-party services

AdvisorCore contains no third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash-reporting software. It communicates only with the two public data sources named above, both operated independently of AdvisorCore.

Children's privacy

AdvisorCore is intended for users aged 13 and older, including high school students under 18. Because AdvisorCore collects no personal information from anyone, no personal information is collected from children either. AdvisorCore does not knowingly collect data from children under 13, and in practice cannot, since nothing is collected at all.

Parents and guardians with questions about their child's use of AdvisorCore are welcome to reach out at advisorcoresupport@gmail.com.

Deleting data you input

You can erase everything at any time from Profile → Privacy & Data → Delete All Data. Deleting the app from your device also removes all of its data. Because AdvisorCore never receives your information, there is nothing to delete on AdvisorCore's end.

Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data. Those rights apply to data a company holds about you. AdvisorCore holds none, because data you input never leaves your device, so there is nothing to access, disclose, or delete on request. You already have full control over all of it directly in the app.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes, and you may be asked to review them in the app.

Your continued use of the app after an updated policy is posted constitutes acceptance of the updated privacy terms. If you do not agree with a change, stop using AdvisorCore and delete it from your device.
